First Impressions Are Something | From the Atelier

First Impressions are something but not everything

From the Atelier

Emily Wee was commissioned for this piece and another. Emily was a client of mine before I became a patron of her work, a sample of which you can check out here. She left a successful career in the corporate world to pursue her love for art.

My commission was unusual for Emily. Previously, she did not work in such a fashion i.e. read an essay and come up with artwork for it. It was unusual for me too since I had never commissioned an artist before.

I enjoyed how Emily reflects the tension of our different personalities and the intensity of our friendship by combining the halves of our faces, which are surrounded by a constellation of our own respective and shared passions.
